The two families of test, the questionnaire in more detail, and what employers do with the results.
A psychometric test measures something about you in a standard way, so every candidate is compared on the same scale. Employers use two families of them.
Ability tests, such as numerical and verbal reasoning, have right answers and a time limit, and give you a score. Personality questionnaires have neither: they ask how you like to work and give a profile. Situational judgement tests sit between the two, with preferred answers about how to handle a situation at work.
We do not know which questionnaire the Goldman Sachs Group uses. Questionnaires come in two formats: some ask you to rate each statement from strongly disagree to strongly agree, and others show a few statements at a time and ask which is most like you and which is least.
There are no right answers, and each trait comes up several times, so answers aimed at an ideal candidate tend to contradict each other. Give the answer that describes you at work, and try both formats beforehand so that neither is new on the day.
A reasoning test gives a percentile: where your score falls among a comparison group of candidates. Many employers set a cut-off, and an application below it ends there.
A personality questionnaire gives a profile, which is read against what the role needs and often shapes the questions at the interview. That makes the reasoning tests the place where practice changes the outcome most. Our reports give a percentile after every reasoning test and a profile after every questionnaire.

GS
Goldman Sachs process is mostly interviews now but the numerical kept me sharp for the case questions. Good quality. Four stars because the tests are good, just be aware GS do not test everyone the same way.

Good prep!
I took the GS pracitce tests and was impressed by the platform. The tests were challenging but doable, and the solutions were great. I'd definitely recommend this package to anyone looking to improve their test scores.

Not in the way you fail a reasoning test: there is no pass mark. Your profile is read against what the role needs, though, and one far from it can end an application, so it is worth taking as seriously as the tests.
Each test has its own limit, and the invitation states it. Our reasoning tests take between 10 and 20 minutes each, and our questionnaires have no time limit.
No. We have no connection with the Goldman Sachs Group, and we do not have its tests. Ours are the kinds and formats that large employers use most, so they are familiar by the time an invitation arrives.
Yes. There are 11 free tests, two of them personality questionnaires, and you can take any of them without an account.
The All-in-One is £29.99 for every package, the personality questionnaires included, with 3 months unlimited access. One package on its own is £9.99. Neither renews, and both come with a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Yes. Every paid plan has a 14-day money-back guarantee. If something is wrong with the platform or the tests, email us within 14 days of buying. If you have started no more than three tests in a package, or four on the All-in-One, we refund what you paid. Other conditions apply.
