AtkinsRéalis is an engineering and nuclear services company headquartered in Montreal, Canada, with one of its largest businesses in the UK and Ireland. It works on transport, nuclear, power, water, defence and building projects, from consulting and design to project management, operations and decommissioning. It also owns the technology behind CANDU nuclear reactors.

The group goes back to an engineering firm founded in Montreal in 1911 that became SNC, and later SNC-Lavalin. In 2017 it bought Atkins, the British consultancy founded by Sir William Atkins in 1938, and in 2023 it renamed itself AtkinsRéalis. It has more than 40,000 employees, offices across the UK from Glasgow to London, and its shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

    Revolut ops role had a logical test. Did the inductive and diagrammatic ones here for a week. Passed first go. Decent price too.

How does AtkinsRéalis hire?

AtkinsRéalis hires in three stages, and the online tests are the second, straight after your application. One more stage follows for the people who get through.

Which tests does AtkinsRéalis use?

Expect a numerical and a verbal reasoning test: they are the pair most large employers set. Many add a logical test, a situational judgement test or a personality questionnaire, and technical roles often bring a mechanical test.

How are AtkinsRéalis tests scored?

Your raw score is turned into a percentile: your place among everyone who has taken that test. A percentile of 80 means you did better than 80 in every 100 candidates in the comparison group. Employers rarely publish the percentile they cut at, and we do not know the one AtkinsRéalis uses.

How do you prepare for AtkinsRéalis tests?

Take as many practice tests as you can, and change the settings as you go. Start with the solutions showing, so every question you miss is explained on the spot.

Then switch the timer on, take away the option to skip, and add negative marking, so a wrong guess costs you a mark. After a few tests like that, the real AtkinsRéalis test is one more run of something you have already done.
