Bayer AG is a German chemical-pharmaceutical multinational corporation founded in 1863. It is headquartered in Leverkusen, North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany). It is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. The main regions of operation are the USA (30% of sales), Germany, China and Brazil. Bayer AG is the holding company of the Bayer Group, which comprised 374 companies at the end of 2021.   • Agricultural products - seeds (corn, soybeans, cotton, vegetable crops) and crop protection products (pesticides, herbicides); revenues €20.2bn, of which €8.7bn in North America;
  • Pharmaceuticals - prescription drugs and diagnostic equipment; EUR 18.3bn in revenues, of which EUR 7.4bn in Europe;
  • Consumer goods - over-the-counter medicines, nutritional supplements and therapeutic cosmetics; revenues of €5.3bn.

Bayer AG recruitment process in 2024

  1. Online application form
    • One of the first stages of the recruitment process is filling in the application form on Bayer AG Careers website.

    • The online application form is usually presented as a questionnaire with the option of importing data from a LinkedIn or CV file.

    • The applicant is required to provide information about work experience, education, skills and other necessary details.

    • There may be questions both about job preferences (e.g. desired type of employment, country and city of residence) and more personal questions (e.g. race and ethnicity, religion, disability)

    • The next stage of the Bayer AG recruitment process is an online assessment. The candidate will be sent an email invitation to complete Bayer AG tests.

    • Bayer AG uses different types of recruitment tests to assess candidates and their suitability for the position they are applying for.

  3. Phone / Video Interview
    • Successful candidates are invited for a 15-20 min. phone call.

    • Soft skills are usually assessed during this call by the Bayer AG recruiter.

    • In some cases, Bayer AG hiring manager may invite you for a video interview (most commonly conducted with HireVue.) For software engineering positions, candidates may be asked to complete a coding challenge (problems on algorithms + take-home challenges.)

  4. Assessment centre
    • Successful candidates are invited to visit the nearest Bayer AG headquarters or office.

    • Candidates will have a chance to personally meet the hiring manager, team leaders and seniors during the assessment day.

    • Bayer AG may organise a group exercise with candidates as part of the hiring procedure.

  5. Partner interview
    • The final stage of the recruitment process.

    • The candidate will have a chance to meet the hiring manager, department director and/or division lead.

    • Normally, there is no assessment at this stage.

    • Candidates are mostly expected to demonstrate soft skills and a desire to join Bayer AG.
