A short guide to the test: what it is, who uses it, the formats, the rules, the scoring and how to prepare.
A diagrammatic reasoning test shows you a change and asks you to repeat it. In our tests figure X has been changed into figure Y, and you choose what figure Z becomes under the same rule.
Other publishers ask you to complete a sequence of diagrams instead. You get our diagrammatic tests in the logical package, beside logical reasoning tests and inductive reasoning tests.
Employers use them to see how you reason with rules when there are no words or numbers to lean on. Saville says its Swift Analysis test, which has a diagrammatic part, is popular for graduates, management trainees, managers and professionals.
You will usually sit it online before any interview, from a link the employer emails with a deadline. Our company pages list the hiring stages at each employer.
Saville sells a test under that name. Its Diagrammatic Analysis has 32 questions in 24 minutes, and a short form of 8 questions in 6 minutes is one part of Swift Analysis.
Tests of the same kind from other publishers are in the list under their own names. Ours show three figures and five numbered answers, in tests of five or ten questions.
One of three six-minute sections: choose the diagram that completes a sequence.
The long version, set when the diagrammatic test is taken on its own.
SHL's test of this kind goes by another name: work out the pattern in a set of images and choose the next one.
Ten abstract questions, one of three parts of a 12-minute test. Talogy owns Cubiks now.
These are the usual formats. Your invitation states the exact number of questions and the time allowed. Saville, SHL and Cubiks are trademarks of their owners, who are not connected with this site.
Most questions use a handful of changes: a turn, a mirror image, a change of shade, or two shapes changing places. One question often applies two of them together.
Work on one change at a time. Rule out every answer that fails the first, and the second usually leaves a single figure.
In most tests each right answer earns a mark, and nothing is given for working. Your total is then ranked against a group who sat the same test, and the rank is given as a percentile.
The employer decides which percentile is enough for the job. Our report shows your score, accuracy and percentile after every practice test.
Put the change from X to Y into words before you look at the answers. Then make that change to Z in your head and find the figure that matches.
Start with the short tests and take them untimed. When you get one wrong, name the change you missed, because the list of changes is short.

Revolut
Revolut ops role had a logical test. Did the inductive and diagrammatic ones here for a week. Passed first go. Decent price too.

Logical Tests
Philips graduate programme. Inductive reasoning section is what I came for. Six inductive and six diagrammatic tests here, did each twice. Real test was the same flavour of pattern questions. Through to the next round.

Logical Tests
Logical
Good inductive and diagrammatic practice. The diagrammatic operators are explained well. Site is English only, fine for me but my friend struggled a bit with the explanations.

Logical Tests
Logical pack
The logical pack has three kinds, inductive, diagrammatic and logical reasoning. I did not know the difference before. Now I do, and I passed.

Logical Tests
Inductive reasoning
The inductive tests are good, the diagrammatic ones with the operators took me a while to get the hang of but that is the point I suppose. Would give 5 if there were a few more of the harder ones.

Gut für Siemens
Habe die logischen Tests für den Siemens Online Test genutzt. Die induktiven Aufgaben mit den Mustern waren fast identisch zum echten Test. Erklärungen sind auf Englisch, war für mich aber kein Problem. Klare Empfehlung.

No. You never draw anything, and no geometry is needed. You compare simple figures and choose one.
Then one of them breaks a rule you have not noticed yet. Check the direction of a turn first, then whether a figure was turned or mirrored: those two are the easiest to mix up.
Yes. Both of Saville's tests work out at 45 seconds a question.
No. Buying from this page buys the whole logical package: 16 tests, of which six are diagrammatic. It costs £9.99 for 3 months unlimited access, no auto-renew.
Yes. Diagrammatic Reasoning Test 1 has 5 questions and a 10-minute limit, with solutions and a full report. You do not need an account or a card.
16 timed tests with 110 questions, each with a step-by-step solution, and a report with your score, accuracy and percentile after every attempt. It costs £9.99 for 3 months unlimited access, no auto-renew.
