About KPMG

KPMG International Limited (or simply KPMG) is one of the world's largest professional services networks and one of the Big Four audit firms along with Deloitte, Ernst & Young and PwC. International headquarters are located in Amstelveen, the Netherlands.

KPMG employs more than 219,000 people (2022). The company provides three types of services: audit, tax and consulting. Consulting services, in turn, are divided into three groups: management consulting, risk consulting and restructuring with case management. KPMG is ranked among the top 100 employers in the United States by Fortune each year.

Each KPMG national office is an independent legal entity that is a member of KPMG International, a Swiss cooperative registered in the Canton of Zug. In 2003, KPMG International changed its legal structure from a Swiss association to a cooperative under Swiss law.

This structure, in which the cooperative provides support services only to its member firms, is similar to other networks providing professional services. In turn, the member firms provide services to the end client. The aim is to limit the liability of each independent member.
