About British Airways

British Airways plc (LSE:BAY) is the largest airline and national carrier in the United Kingdom and one of the largest in Europe. Its main transfer hubs are Heathrow and Gatwick. British Airways holds a Type A license, meaning it is authorized to carry passengers, cargo and mail on planes with 20 or more passenger seats[3]. British Airways is a member of the Oneworld airline alliance.

On April 8, 2010, British Airways announced a merger with Iberia into the International Airlines Group.

BA was created in 1974 after a British Airways Board was established by the British government to manage the two nationalised airline corporations, British Overseas Airways Corporation and British European Airways, and two regional airlines, Cambrian Airways and Northeast Airlines. On 31 March 1974, all four companies were merged to form British Airways. However, it marked 2019 as its centenary based on predecessor companies. After almost 13 years as a state company, BA was privatised in February 1987 as part of a wider privatisation plan by the Conservative government. The carrier expanded with the acquisition of British Caledonian in 1987, Dan-Air in 1992, and British Midland International in 2012. How does British Airways hire?

British Airways hires in five stages, and the online tests are the third. Two more stages follow for the people who get through.

Which tests does British Airways use?

Expect a numerical and a verbal reasoning test: they are the pair most large employers set. Many add a logical test, a situational judgement test or a personality questionnaire, and technical roles often bring a mechanical test.

We do not know the exact set British Airways will send you: it changes with the role you applied for, and from one intake to the next. How are British Airways tests scored?

Your raw score is turned into a percentile: your place among everyone who has taken that test. A percentile of 80 means you did better than 80 in every 100 candidates in the comparison group. Employers rarely publish the percentile they cut at, and we do not know the one British Airways uses.

How do you prepare for British Airways tests?
